The redesigning of GQ Portuguese life-style magazine web was, after VOGUE, a tough one. To do so, we had to find make friends with strict brand guidelines, GQ design manual and, in the same time, make visible to all that GQ and VOGUE both belong to one family.

Another Night in Lisbon

After the VOGUE Portugal web had been successfully launched, another Lighthouse Publishing title – GQ Portugal, exclusive men´s magazine, including its online version – called for refurbishment. Its design and technology did not fit the chosen criteria and needed an upgrade. We headed for Lisbon, again.

CMS R.E.C.O+

The CMS requirements – handle big data volumes, provide administrators and editors with high user comfort and offer an integrated tool for advertisement space administration – were similar to those from VOGUE Portugal. The CMS for GQ Portugal was thematically linked to its predecessor, but the technology had another level-up.

Web Design

GQ is primarily focused on male reader which is reflected in its looks and content. We stayed within the boarders of the corporate graphic philosophy, looking for some ways to express the specific identity of the Portuguese branch to link, in the end, both new webs of VOGUE and GQ with those visual elements which they shared.
